Research
My current research focuses on the ethical and organizational challenges in the realization of projects for holistic healing and the integrative development of human and nature. The development of an organizational model with a “caring architecture”, a holistic view of the human being and the cultural specificities as well as social determinants for the definition of health and illness are topics, which determine my research on the South American continent and in Europe.
During my master's studies in Applied Ethics, with a focus on medical-, nursing- and care ethics, I focused my research on ethics and human rights for integrative medicine. To this end, I did field research on the Latin American Mamá Cultiva movement, which favours the self-cultivation of medical cannabis. This revealed a wide range of different forms of violence in health care. At CLAEH University in Uruguay, I researched on the educational branch of medical humanism, which seeks to humanize medicine, improve doctor-patient relations, and improve mental hygiene for health professionals.
You can read about the results in the book „Mamá Cultiva: Selbsthilfe mit medizinischem Cannabis in Latinamerika. Menschenrechte und Ethik für eine Integrative Medizin“, which was published in August 2022 and can be ordered at Mamá Cultiva: Selbsthilfe mit medizinischem Cannabis in Lateinamerika (bod.de) and in bookstores.
With my research I would like to build a bridge between different medical systems towards an Integrative Medicine that perceives the human being in its wholeness and includes traditional, alternative and complementary medicine in health care and research.
Lectures
Do you need a keynote speech for your event or a contribution for a symposium? I am happy to convey my research topics and practical experiences of the last decades to a broad interested audience. It is high time that values such as empathy, care for people, cultures and the environment are given priority over competition and exploitation in health care as well as in working life and international cooperation, so that people and nature can be healed.
